Supervisors! Want to become familiar with online orientation? Visit the site and log in as a visitor, using instructions provided during the presentation (see below to enter). What to do when you hire a new employee - Instructions for both benefit-eligible and non benefit-eligible employees. Benefit-eligible faculty & staff: 1 - As soon as possible after an acceptance of employment, the new hire should visit the Human Resources Division Online New Employee Orientation. During the online orientation, the employee will need to provide the following:
The employee should view the online orientation, review all policies, and print all required forms. You may print a flyer to help guide your new employee through the online orientation process. 2 - If your new employee will park on campus, you should contact Parking Services for a parking packet, which includes a Vehicle Registration card, a copy of the current parking regulations, and a map. The employee should visit Parking Services on his/her first day of work to obtain a parking permit. Send with the employee a letter including full name, identification number, position name, payroll type, and part-time/full-time status. 3 - Within 3 working days of his/her employment date, the new employee must complete and submit all employment and benefit forms to the Human Resources Division, Employment Section. 4 - Remind employee of benefit deadlines! The employee should complete and submit desired benefits enrollment forms to the Human Resources Division Benefits Section. All elections must be made within 31 days of the new hire's employment date. Faculty and key administrators on contract must also choose between TRS and ORP within the first 60 days of their employment. NOTE: An employee wanting the earliest possible insurance coverage must complete and submit enrollment forms to Benefits on or before his/her employment date.
